EROSION OF A DOLOMITE
In 2015 I found this dolomite in Arrábida Natural Park, Sesimbra, Setúbal District, Portugal. Initially I thought it would be interesting to photograph this rock formation. Later I found that none of the photographs I had taken satisfied me, for various reasons. I returned to this location in 2016 and again the photos I took did not satisfy me. When I came back, year after year, I found that the dolomite was slightly more worn and the photos I took still did not satisfy me. By 2019 I noticed that erosion had evolved significantly and that the top of this dolomite would not remain intact much longer. It was then that I found inspiration to publish these photographs in project format and to continue to document the erosion process in the future.
